Macbeth turns his attention to Banquo and his descendants.
Banquo had seen Macbeth become everything the witches foretold. Macbeth then began worrying about Banquo’s descendants becoming king and not his own children. As a result Macbeth had Banquo assassinated.
Narrator: Banquo had seen Macbeth become everything the witches foretold. Macbeth then began to worry about the part of the prophecy where Banquo’s descendants would be kings but his would not.
Macbeth: He knows too much.
Banquo: You now have everything the witches predicted.
Narrator: So Macbeth invited all the local leaders to a party at his house and hired assassins to kill Banquo and his son Fleance. While Banquo and his son were on the way to the party they were ambushed and Banquo was killed.
Banquo: Oh the treachery.
Narrator: But Banquo’s son managed to escape.
Banquo: Run Fleance so you can avenge me.
