The Witches Reveal Their Prophecies
The Witches appear to Macbeth & Banquo and speak in what appears to the men to be riddles. They refer to the men by name and proceed to make predictions about their futures.
What is Being Said:
Narrator – Suddenly three hideous creatures were upon the two.
Witch 1 – All hail Macbeth! Thane of Glamis!
Macbeth – How does this creature know who I am?
Witch 2 – All hail Macbeth! Thane of Cawdor!
Macbeth – I’m not the Lord of Cawdor.
Witch 3 – All hail Macbeth who will be king hereafter!
Macbeth – I’m not the ruler of this land. My cousin Duncan is king.
